Sometimes, you meet a couple and instantly know that they've picked the right women for the job. I meet Michelle & Andy for their pre-wedding shoot and we just clicked. After the shoot we had a cuppa and chat about their plans. They described their wedding to me. Low key, intimate and full of love. They didn't want many posed photographs and they were more than happy to just let me do my thing which of course is what I love to hear.
I turned up to the Hatfield Hotel, Lowestoft, around 11am just as Michelle started to get ready. She was calm and hair and make up for the four bridesmaids were well underway. Getting dressed four bridesmaids was not an easy feat but Michelle handled it with confidence and the morning quickly slipped away. Soon it was time for Michelle to have her hair done. Just as her friend started to style her hair, Shelley, the planner at the Hatfield, turned up with a card from the Groom.
It was rather emotional and it had the room in tears, even I teared up a little behind the camera. You could tell how much this day meant to meant to everyone. Michelle had her hair finished and then it was time for her beautiful dress to go on.
Before we knew it the registrars turned up to make sure everything was running smoothly. This was my cue to whip downstairs and see the nervous groom.
The ceremony was just beautiful. Andy's eldest daughter read a poem and made it half way through before the tears started to fall. She carried on an you could feel the pride and love from both Andy & Michelle. The ceremony carried on with an emotional moment from Michelle but we made it to "you may now kiss the bride" and before you knew it, they were Mr & Mrs Blyth.
The couple headed into the hotel were drinks were on hand to celebrate their marriage. During our chat, at the pre-wedding shoot, we discussed how much we would love to get down onto the beach to take their couples portraits. Unfortunately the rain was pouring down when we were ready to take the photographs. Not to worry, I'm sure it will pass. After a few drinks and mingling with guests, the sun had come out. We headed outside as quickly as we could to make the most of the weather. You could not tell it was November, they sky was beautiful and the sun shone down on the couple. There was even a rainbow. Just as we were finishing up their photographs. It started to chuck it down again. We made it inside just in time.
I left the couple and the guests to have their wedding breakfast in peace. No one wants photos of the guests eating haha! I came back in for the speeches. They were truly lovely and the emotions came back again. The couple and their guests were all so happy. It was time for cake cutting and sparklers. It was bonfire night so sparklers were a must. The couple had gorgeous personalised tags made up from Alabaster with their names, the date and "let love sparkle".
It was then time for the evening guests. Once they start arriving I find the evening goes really quickly and it was time for the first dance before we knew it. The couple danced to A Thousand Years followed by Halo. The songs stuck in my head for the the rest of the night. After capturing the guests dancing the night away I left the couple to it.
I loved every second of Michelle and Andy's wedding and it was such an honor to be part of such a special day.
